While giving my compost pile a nice overhaul, I decided it was time to throw in my Simple brand Green Toe shoes, which Simple claimed could be composted. And so, the adventure and the blog began. Through time this blog has become a gardening/food blog with shoe updates, and this year I will add some guest bloggers and some more info on gardening and cooking food from your yard. Stay Tuned.

Sad times for the U.S. of A. have begun...
Unfortunately our country is so Xenophobic, our government (mainly the past administration, but construction hasn't stopped) thinks it is a good idea to put up a wall on our southern border. For some reason I distinctly remember, when I was little, our government telling someone else to "Tear down that wall!"... ironic we are now building one.

Do you also "distinctly" remember the wall being referred to by our government then was erected by the Communist dictators of East Germany to keep people of East Berlin trapped in their own country and not to keep the free people from West Berlin from entering Communist East Germany? Since the wall being constructed along our border with Mexico is intended to accomplish the exact opposite purpose, I don't see the irony of the situation at all. History is so much more useful in making a point when we "bend" it to suit our purposes, isn't it?
